Back in 1988, when he was known as DJ Karriem, Kabus Kerim set foot on an adventurous musical path that eventually lead him to be one of Turkey’s Hip Hop/Rap pioneers. It was in the early 90s when Karakan and Cartel emerged and laid the foundation for Turkish Hip Hop and Rap. Behind these two groups extreme success is a man by the name of Kabus Kerim aka Sapik Manisali. Even though the glory days of Karakan and Cartel are long gone, their tracks – which were so ahead of their time – still remain to be topped.

Nowadays, Kabus Kerim is coming back onto the music scene strong with his one of a kind never heard before mixes. Seems like Kabus Kerim has mastered the art form of taking vintage Turkish tracks and mixing them with anything from modern Hip Hop to Funky beats. Check out some of his kick ass sets on Mixcloud. Once you listen to one, you’ll be addicted.
